On September 12, the 5th annual Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl Golf Tournament was held to thank those that contributed to a successful 2007 bowl game.
Held at Bear Creek Golf Course, this event included over 200 players and volunteers, and more than 50 corporate partner companies. For the first time in the event’s history, all five branches of the military were represented.
The USO was present taking donations to raise money in support of active military personnel. CEO T. A. “Kip” Hyde of Hawk Electronics matched all on-course donations giving more than $1,300, a total of $2,600 to our local USO.
“$5 will provide a sandwich, soft drink and chips to our young soldiers traveling to and from deployment,” stated USO representative Laura Flynn.
Every little bit counts, and we praise Hyde & Hawk Electronics for seizing the opportunity to do more!
A special thanks to Renaissance Worthington, Rosa’s Café and Scott & Doug Murray of Murray Media for donating food and their time to this event.
The first place team came from Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control and included Al Duchesne, Joel Strickland, Cory Roseborrough and Tom Kiefer.
