7th Annual Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl Golf Tournament

On September 17, the 7th annual Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl Golf Tournament was held to thank those that contributed to a successful 2009 bowl game.

Held at Walnut Creek Country Club in Mansfield, Texas, this event included more than 200 players and volunteers, and more than 60 representatives from our corporate partner companies. Once again, we were honored to have all five branches of the military attend: Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard.

The USO was present taking donations to raise money in support of active military personnel all over the world. Kip Hyde from Hawk Electronics/Teletouch pledged to double the amount raised on the course, and American Airlines was gracious enough to donate two round-trip, first-class tickets to our live auction, which was won by Mr. Romeo Collazo from ROC Construction, Inc.

Donated raffle and hole prizes came from many generous sponsors and partners of the bowl, including Billy Bob’s Texas, Conference USA, Courtyard by Marriott, Dallas Mavericks, Four Day Weekend, Mountain West Conference, Northrop Grumman, Omni Hotel Fort Worth and Reata Restaurant.

A special thanks to the Renaissance Worthington, Rosa’s Café, Ben E. Keith Beers (Bud Light), Pepsi, Scott Murray of Murray Media, and all our volunteers for donating their time and resources to making this golf tournament a success.

The first place team on the Oak Course was Rhett Taylor from D Magazine, Pat Jamison from the City of Mansfield, and Trevor Armstrong and Jeff Goodsell from Enterprise.
