8th Annual Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl Golf Tournament

The 8th annual Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl Golf Tournament was held Friday, Sept. 16 at Walnut Creek Country Club to thank those who contributed to a successful 2010 bowl game. The event included more than 200 players and volunteers and more than 60 representatives from our corporate partner companies. All five branches of the United States armed forces were also represented as we had teams of Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard servicemen. Continue reading

Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl signs United States Naval Academy for 2016

Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl executive director, Brant Ringler, and Naval Academy director of athletics, Chet Gladchuk, announced today that Navy has agreed to play in the 2016 Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas, if bowl eligible. Navy had previously announced it would play in the game in 2013 as well.

“Navy has been one of the most consistent football programs in the country over the last nine years, and we are thrilled to have them come to Fort Worth twice in a four-year time period,” said Ringler. “Extending our agreement with Navy to include the 2016 bowl game positions the Armed Forces Bowl to once again have a military academy in our game for four out of five years beginning with Navy in 2013.” Continue reading

Armed Forces Bowl announces agreement with United States Military Academy

Black Knights lock in bowl destination in 2014 and 2017

The Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl and the Army Athletic Association have reached an agreement that guarantees the Black Knights a spot in the postseason game in 2014 and 2017 if the team is bowl eligible. Army claimed the 2010 Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl with a 16-14 victory over SMU at Gerald Ford Stadium in Dallas. A return trip to the event would be played at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas. The site of the game since its inception in 2003, the home field of the TCU Horned Frogs is undergoing a massive renovation that prevented the 2010 bowl game from utilizing the facility.
