The Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl has announced the start of a new program for the 2012 bowl game, the “Purple Heart Campaign”. The campaign will take place in conjunction with the bowl game’s 10th anniversary celebration and return to Amon G. Carter Stadium. The Purple Heart Campaign is an exclusive, one-time offer for 2012 TCU season ticket and suite holders, in which Horned Frog football fans are able to purchase their same TCU season tickets for the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl. A portion of proceeds from each Purple Heart Campaign ticket purchased will be donated to the TCU ROTC programs.
“The Purple Heart Campaign is a special offer that we hope will be well-received by the Horned Frog community here in Fort Worth,” said Brant Ringler, executive director of the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl. “We know that TCU fans bleed purple, but we are asking them to also show their red, white and blue pride this December and join us as we celebrate our nation’s armed forces.”
Amon G. Carter Stadium has been home to the Fort Worth-based bowl since its inaugural game in 2003, which featured Boise State versus TCU. The bowl played the past two years in Dallas at SMU’s Gerald J. Ford Stadium due to the construction at TCU.
