Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl & Mountain West Conference Renew Partnership
Fort Worth, Texas, October 7, 2009 – The Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl, owned and operated by ESPN Regional Television, has signed a four-year agreement with the Mountain West Conference for one of its teams to participate in the Bowl through 2013, effective with the 2010 football season.
The announcement was made by Brant B. Ringler, Executive Director of the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl, and Mountain West Conference Commissioner Craig Thompson. The agreement assures the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl access to one of the top five selections from the Mountain West as well as access to Texas Christian University’s participation in the game.
The 2009 Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl will kick off Thursday, Dec. 31, at 11 a.m. CT on ESPN as the postseason college football game ushers in the New Year for the third straight year at Amon G. BELL HELICOPTER ARMED FORCES BOWL SUPPORTS NASJRB & FORT WORTH AIR POWER FOUNDATION

The Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl has designated the Fort Worth Air Power Foundation as its hometown charity to go along with its national charity partner, the USO. The mission of the Fort Worth Air Power Foundation is one that aligns well with the desires of the bowl to support the military in all facets of life. The actual Foundation mission is to provide financial assistance to military families on a case-by-case basis, to financially support deployment and welcome home receptions and comfort gatherings for the families of deployed military and to provide financial support for the Welfare and Relief projects of the units assigned in North Texas. In addition, the Foundation supports the soldiers that have been wounded in battle and that are recuperating at military hospitals in Texas. Continue Reading
6th Annual Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl Golf Tournament
On September 28, the 6th annual Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl Golf Tournament was held to thank those that contributed to a successful 2008 bowl game.
Held at Bear Creek Golf Club, this event included 204 players from more than 60 corporate partner companies. Plus, we were once again honored to have representatives from all five branches of the military attend: Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard.
The USO was present taking donations to raise money in support of active military personnel all over the world. Over $1,000 was raised through player donations.
Donated raffle and hole prizes came from many generous sponsors and partners of the bowl. Some include: Omni Fort Worth Hotel, Dallas Stars, Four Day Weekend, Dallas Mavericks, Courtyard by Marriott and Pepsi.
