Community Involvement
The Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl tries to be as involved in the Fort Worth community as possible. Staff members go to civic groups to speak and raise awareness of the bowl game. The Bowl and its corporate partners donate thousands of tickets each year to local charities.
During Bowl Week, we make arrangements to bring players, cheerleaders, and mascots to participate in the Welcome Home A Hero program at DFW Airport as well as visit Cook Children’s Hospital and Dallas Veterans Hospital. The bowl has also become involved in local youth football leagues inviting the league champion(s) to watch the teams practice and be recognized during the game.
In 2008, thanks to our corporate partners, over 3,000 tickets were distributed to active duty military and their families to attend the game for free. During the spring and summer, the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl was proud to donate portions of ticket proceeds to the USO and the Children of Fallen Soldiers fund.
