- History
- Formerly the Fort Worth Bowl, the newly renamed Bell Helicopter Armed
Forces Bowl is entering its fifth year in existence.
Current contracts with PAC 10, Conference USA and the
Mountain West Conference run through 2009.
- 2003: TCU 31 v. Boise St. 34
2004: Cincinnati 32 v. Marshall 14
2005: Houston 13 v Kansas 42
2006: Tulsa 13 v Utah 25
- Community Involvement
- The Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl tries to be as involved in the
Fort Worth Community as possible. Staff members go
to civic groups to speak and raise awareness of the
bowl game. The Bowl and its corporate partners donate
thousands of tickets each year to local charities.
During Bowl Week, we make arrangements to bring players,
cheerleaders, and mascots to visit Cook Children's
Hospital and Dallas Veterans Hospital. The bowl has
also become involved in some local youth football leagues
and invited the league champion to watch the teams
practice and be recognized on the field during the
game. In 2006, thanks to our corporate partners, over
3,000 tickets were distributed to active duty military
and their families to attend the game for free. During the spring and
summer, the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl was proud
to donate portions of ticket proceeds to the USO and
the Children of Fallen Soldiers fund.
- Volunteers
- There are currently over 200 volunteers who help with the Bell Helicopter
Armed Forces Bowl. Volunteers are set up in a committee structure and
we work with each volunteer to try and get them on a committee that they
will be excited to be a part of. The majority of volunteers are placed
on a hospitality committee for one of the two teams. For more information
on volunteering, please contact the bowl office at 817-810-0012.
