The Fort Worth Airpower Council (FWAPC) dates back to 1958 when General Curtis LeMay and Frank Kent, a local businessman, started the FWAPC supporting Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth, Texas. The FWAPC developed over the years as a 200-member organization and, in 1999 the Fort Worth Airpower Council created the Fort Worth Airpower Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit foundation to raise money in support of our military and their families. The magnitude of Sky Ball has grown to a National level, allowing more broad-based support. Over the past four years Sky Ball has raised more than $1.5 million dollars. This has allowed the FWAPF to contribute to many projects that directly support members of all branches of our military and their families through various contingency funds at the Naval Air Station, Fort Worth, Joint Reserve Base and other programs. Also funded by Sky Ball proceeds are Heroes on the Water, Freedom Flight, Wounded Warriors Veteran's Day Weekend, Snowball Express, and many others. The Foundation prides itself on funding only those programs that directly benefit veterans, members of our military, Wounded Warriors and their families.

Since its founding in 1881 by visionary leader Clara Barton, the American Red Cross has been the nation's premier emergency response organization. As part of a worldwide movement that offers neutral humanitarian care to the victims of war, the American Red Cross distinguishes itself by also aiding victims of devastating natural disasters. Over the years, the organization has expanded its services, always with the aim of preventing and relieving suffering. Today, in addition to domestic disaster relief, the American Red Cross offers compassionate services in five other areas: community services that help the needy; support and comfort for military members and their families; the collection, processing and distribution of lifesaving blood and blood products; educational programs that promote health and safety; and international relief and development programs. The American Red Cross is where people mobilize to help their neighbors—across the street, across the country, and across the world—in emergencies. Each year, in communities large and small, victims of some 70,000 disasters turn to neighbors familiar and new—the more than half a million volunteers and 35,000 employees of the Red Cross. An average of more than 9 million people a year receive Red Cross training in first aid, water safety and other skills that help save lives.

The Armed Services YMCA of the USA runs more than 150 programs around the world to ease the burden of nearly 500,000 families of junior-enlisted military personnel each year. ASYMCA delivers free and low-cost programs through 14 Branches, 10 YMCA Affiliates, and 9 DOD Affiliates. To remain a top-rated, “exceptional charity” ( Charity Navigator 2011) ASYMCA relies on the program support of donors and over 10,000 volunteers each year to provide needed services to our military families nationwide.
For the Service Member,
ASYMCA programs aim to bring families closer together while at home and especially during deployment. Healthy families contribute substantially to the success of service members and the entire military, providing confidence and peace of mind. For the Spouse, Few people outside of military families can imagine the strain of worrying about a service husband or wife, especially one who is deployed. A vast array of ASYMCA programs help spouses of junior-enlisted learn life skills, care for children and even make ends meet.
For the Kids,
The children of deployed parents are the ones who suffer most; confusion, loneliness and depression are common. ASYMCA programs educate, entertain, stimulate and comfort young minds, helping them understand and cope with the absence of their parent.

Throughout our country’s history, Americans have felt profound appreciation and gratitude for the dedication and sacrifice of our troops and their families. The USO provides a tangible way for all of us to say thank you, as it has for 70 years. Thanks to your generosity, the USO fulfills its mission of lifting the spirits of America’s troops and their families. Through the USO, you touch their lives through an extensive range of programs at more than 160 locations in 27 states and 14 countries, and at hundreds of entertainment events each year. Thousands of USO volunteers do everything possible to provide a home away from home for our troops and to keep them connected to the families they left behind. The USO makes sure your help goes to those who need it the most: troops serving in combat, their families, our wounded warriors and their families, and families of the fallen.
As a nonprofit, non-political organization, the USO is now, and always will be, about our troops. Wherever and whenever they go, the USO will be there, until everyone comes home.

Operation FINALLY HOME is award winning program created by Bay Area Builders Association Support Our Troops. Operation FINALLY HOME was established in 2005 as a non-partisan/non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization. Operation FINALLY HOME'S mission is to provide custom made mortgage free homes to wounded and disabled veterans and the widows of the fallen in an effort to get their lives back on track and become productive members of their communities. Operation FINALLY HOME partners with corporate sponsors, builder associations, builders, developers, individual contributors, and volunteers to help severely wounded heroes and their families’ transition from the battlefront to the home front and help them succeed in their challenging new world so they may ultimately enjoy a productive and rewarding life.
