Letter from Tom Starr, Executive Director

It is a great pleasure and quite humbling experience to serve as executive director of the bowl that pays tribute to our nation’s men and women in uniform. Being a Vietnam veteran, I appreciate the opportunity to offer a small token of thanks to those who stand guard, round-the-clock throughout the world, to ensure that you and I are safe and secure as we go about our daily business.


Their company slogan is “Our Mission is You”—and as the Official Insurance Partner of the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl for the next three years, you’ll soon be seeing the Armed Forces Insurance (AFI) slogan all over.

Armed Forces Bowl to Repeat New Years Eve Performance

For the second straight year, the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl will “usher” in the New Year as the postseason college football game will be played on New Year’s Eve at Amon G. Carter Stadium.

The Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl, owned and operated by ESPN Regional Television (ERT), will be televised live from Amon G. Carter Stadium on Wednesday, December 31, at 11 a.m. (CST) on ESPN. The sixth edition of the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl will feature schools from Conference USA and the Mountain West Conference.
