Tickets for the 15th annual Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl to be played at TCU’s Amon G. Carter Stadium on Saturday, Dec. 23, are now on sale at ArmedForcesBowl.com, event organizers announced today.
Tickets range from $30 for general admission seating to $75 for lower bowl reserved seats. A limited number of seats are also available in the exclusive Champions Club located on the West side of the stadium. At $125, these tickets include premium seating, complimentary food and beverages, and access to the inside of the club level.
The general public also has the opportunity to thank armed forces members and their families by sponsoring tickets for military members to attend the game through the “Host a Hero” program, which is now in its third year. “Host a Hero” tickets, sold for $15 each, will be distributed to past and present service members and their families. “Host a Hero” ticket sponsors will be recognized for their generosity during the game.
“The ‘Host a Hero’ program has been extremely popular the last two seasons,” Brant Ringler, Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl executive director, said. “We witness the patriotic spirit and the generosity of the people of Fort Worth in so many ways, and the community’s contribution to this program has been exceptional.”
Pending eligibility, the postseason college football bowl game will feature a team from Conference USA against the U.S. Military Academy. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. CT (3:30 p.m. ET) and the game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.
Tickets can be purchased through ArmedForcesBowl.com. Also on the web site, armed forces members are able to register for up to four complimentary tickets to the game provided courtesy of the bowl’s corporate partners and fans.
The annual game, played in honor of the armed forces of the United States, is the only collegiate football bowl game that has hosted all three U.S. Military Academy football teams – the U.S. Military Academy (2010), U.S. Air Force Academy (2007-2009, 2012, 2015) and U.S. Naval Academy (2013, 2016).
The Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl has featured the “armed forces” theme since 2006. Patriotic overtones recognizing all five branches of service are prevalent throughout the game. Past Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowls have included fan-fest adventure areas showcasing armed forces hardware; flyovers; demonstrations by several of the military's top skydiving teams; custom homes awarded to wounded warriors; on-field induction ceremonies; armed forces bands and honor guards; and the annual Great American Patriot Award presented by Armed Forces Insurance.
The bowl game also sponsors the Armed Forces Merit Award presented by the Football Writers Association of America. For additional information about the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl, please visit ArmedForcesBowl.com, Facebook.com/ArmedForcesBowl or Twitter.com/ArmedForcesBowl.
